Humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa’s familiar indoor-outdoor thatch-roofed dining area now features a dramatic new circular bar which incorporates a glass aquarium, creating the stunning visual effect of live fish swimming directly beneath the bar.

Enjoy wines chosen by our master sommelier which focus on varietals from coastal regions with maritime influences to complement the range of seafood that forms the core of our reimagined menu. These specially selected wines are augmented by a range of classic tiki-style craft cocktails that weave Polynesian and Caribbean influences with American cocktail culture, creating a fun twist to delight cocktail aficionados and casual drinkers alike.

Insider Menu Tips

The new approach to the menu spotlights fresh, sustainably sourced seafood, including locally farmed fish from Big Island-based Blue Ocean Mariculture. Not-to-miss menu items include the bone-in shitome, halibut cheek with kabocha squash and coconut mint chutney, Hawaiian bouillabaisse and prawns served tableside on a hot lava rock, a special tinned fish menu, and our signature 60-ounce Porterhouse steak, in addition to à la carte bites such as half-shell oysters adorned with custom caviar and succulent razor clams.

Diners can enjoy two of our new, unique dining experiences: a Seaside Toast, located at our most desired section of the restaurant and featuring stunning sunset and ocean views along with complimentary sparkling wine and an amuse bouche. Or, for a more intimate experience, try our Private Dining on the Lagoon or Waterfall Private Dining options.
